Michael A. Solitro, Founder & President
Michael Solitro has extensive experience in telecommunications and energy infrastructure construction, maintenance and project management.
Prior to establishing Sertex, LLC., Michael had formed Axsys Communications, a company specializing in fiber optic deployment within the electric utility space. He also founded Axsys Comunicaciones de Argentina, S.A. with partner company Technomar, as Latin America began privatizing their electric and telecommunications companies.
Michael began his career with EBASCO Services as an engineer on the Waterford III S.E.S. project in New Orleans, Louisiana. Through the 1980’s he held multiple engineering positions within the electric utility industry, including construction, startup and maintenance of nuclear power generation plants.
Michael also currently serves as Construction Project Manager for CapeNet, the operator of a federally-funded, 400-mile fiber optic network in southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod. He oversees all network construction and maintenance. Michael holds a B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering from Wentworth Institute.
Shawn Harmon, Vice President of Operations
Shawn Harmon is responsible for annual business planning, sales and operating budgets, estimating and managing projects, business and staff development, customer relations, as well as playing an integral role in the Sertex safety program.
Shawn began his career working for Axsys Communications, Inc. as a fiber optic technician. Through the 1990’s, he traveled throughout the U.S. working on many telecommunication projects, advancing to Project Manager. In 2000, after the formation of Sertex Utility Services, he was promoted to Vice President of Operations.
In 2006, Shawn continued his career out of the telecommunications industry, working for ThyssenKrupp Elevator in Lincoln, RI. After a few years as Service & Repair Manager in the RI Branch, Shawn was promoted to Branch Manager for the Connecticut market area, where he was responsible for all sales and operating budgets.
Shawn returned to Sertex in May, 2014, as Vice President of Operations. He holds an A.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from New England Institute of Technology.
