As a result of increasing demand for electricity in the Chenango County service area (due to Agro Farma Inc.’s makers of Chobani Yogurt) expansion of its dairy production) no additional load growth was possible until this project was completed.
In order to provide safe, reliable service and meet increasing demand for electricity, Sertex was enlisted to expand the Rochester Gas & Electric substation capacity.
Working with CapeNet, the firm that manages and provides services for the OpenCape Network, Sertex is building a 350-mile all-fiber optic network in southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands.
Granite Wind Farm in New Hampshire’s Coos County is the state’s largest wind farm, powering more than 20,000 homes with 33 3MW turbines. Sertex was hired to build the collector substation and switchyard.
Sertex furnished and installed approximately 44 miles of underground fiber optic cable used for relay and protection of a newly installed 345-kV electric transmission line. The system included connections at seven substations along the route.
When Westfield Gas & Electric needed to expand and upgrade their substation to improve service and reliability of their electrical system, they called Sertex.
